  • News on the F.R.'s Tribute!!:

    Please post ASAP.

Brado is dealing with Mickey lately.

*Mickey has requested that BOMB THE BOATS & REICH & ROLL not be featured on the FR tribute, due to the poor reception by listener's of the songs' contents/humour - people don't get the joke. Mickey's request will be fulfilled.

*as stated earlier, tribute should be out sometime this Summer

    News Update - May 14, 2001

  • The Rebels played May 4th at Lee's Palace to resounding success! Thanks to Drew for the pic and Ray for a full review of the show!

"Show may fourth at Lees Palace in Toronto was tight , loud and a lot of fun, as i have found all rebel shows for the past twenty years!! Mikey is undoubtedly the quintessential canadian punk, the ultimate frontman!" - Drew Cunningham

"Saturday Night, Lee's Palace! The Rebels Rocked...what a great show and a great band. It was an honor to hear them live..my first time... Bomb the Boats!" - Ray K., Toronto FULL REVIEW!

  • If you're looking for F.R.'s stuff, here's an easy link to bookmark/add to favorites for EBay. There's almost always *something* listed for the Rebels on there, and quite often even rare stuff. I've bought a couple of things off of there, just make sure you're not bidding on stuff that *I* want. ;-P

Oh, BTW, here's my diminishing want list....
    1) Untitled - 12"
    2) Burn The Flag - Demo Cassette
    3) Nobodys Hero's - 12" (exists??)
    3) Nobodys Hero's - Cassette (exists??)
    4) More Than a State of Mind (CD) (Track 5 - Behind Bars)
    5) Spiked - A Punk Overview - Retro 80's (CD) Track 12 - Surfin' On Heroin (Demo)
    6) Anything that Mickey was on that I don't know of...

    News Update - April 18, 2001

  • Thanks tons to Eric Boutilier-Brown for the amazingly great pictures to the right (don't tell me the second B&W picture of Mickey in the set doesn't look like Trent Reznor, he just looks amazing there) and a bunch more pictures to add to the live picture area of the site. You can visit his web site for more examples of his photography.

  • F.R.'S TRIBUTE NEWS!!

Brado just recently e-mailed me, well a couple of days ago, about the tribute and how things are going. Rather tnan me blab on, here's his words!

The FORGOTTEN REBELS TRIBUTE ALBUM Update April 16th 2001

Ric Taylor and Luc-A. Lavoie have both been assigned individual writing
positions for the liner notes of the FORGOTTEN REBELS TRIBUTE ALBUM.
They are both currently in the process of doing so.

I am still exploring some options to add to the uniqueness of this
tribute album. If these options develop into actualities, I will
announce them. Sorry, but surprises are best kept secret.

Aiming to release the album sometime in the Summer 2001. As the
tribute's release date has been set back several times already, the new
release date should only be considered tentative. Keep your fingers
    crossed.

Will update you again within 60 days.

  • For those three people who have been waiting patiently for their videocasettes from me, I sent them off a week or so ago, so enjoy! (finally)

  • I've also added a cover and a few more details to a compilation that the rebels were on from the Restless label, more of a sampler CD. It can be found in the discography section.

  • I'm going to be digitizing the F.R.'s videos soon to be put up here. I can't promise when but I do now have a video card that is easily capable of accomplishing this. :) I'm also seriously considering somehow getting some Forgotten Rebels mp3 trading going of albums that are not able to be purchased right now....

    News Update - March 9, 2001

  • The horrible rumors are dispelled!!! Two new gigs for the Rebels!! They'll be playing in my hometown of Vancouver at the Starfish Room (a great place) and on Vancouver Island at the IceHouse. I will be videotaping this show when I go and I might make a trip out to the Island to see them there as well.

  • Don't know if I mentioned it before but here's a review of November 4th, 2000 F.R.'s show at Lees Palace written by Léa. It's pretty crazy colors and font so bear with me, she formatted it. If anybody else wants to write a review of one of the shows, please submit them to me.

  • Also send in your reviews of the new album Nobodys Hero's such as Brad Pine did.

  • To the right you can see a pic that Holm from Germany took while they were there last year (October 13, 2000). Thanks! You can see more in the live pics section! I also reformatted the live pics section so that there are now thumbnails to click on, yay!

    News Update - February 7, 2001
  • On Viynl: Word from Vic who talked to Mickey on the viynl release of Nobody's Heroes is that "vinyl should be out sometime, but OPM isn't really prioritizing it."

  • On Touring: From F.R.'s manager - 'The band is supposed to go to the west Coast next month or so. They will not likely play in southern Ontario until April or May.' (Thanks Luc-A) Anybody with more info on West Coast gigs please let me know (I live near Vancouver). Earlier reports from The Chick Magnets were that the Rebels couldn't get the place they were going to play at to guarantee their $5000 guarantee to play. :(

  • On Videos: From F.R.'s manager - 'A video is in the making at they will play a few dates after it is released.' (Thanks Luc-A)

  • On Gigs: Reports are coming in that Rebels live gigs are something not to be missed, of course

  • On New Bassist: TT Mahar (Real Name: Shawn Maher) who used to be in the band Sven Gali, who left them in 1995 to make his own clothing line and movie production. The band shortly broke up after that. Here's a page on Sven Gali info.

  • Scott Scheirbeck has a new page for his F.R.'s CDR's if you are interested in trading bootlegs with him. I've updated him on the trading page as well.
