Gig Review

November 30th, 1996 - The Starfish Room In Vancouver, BC

The Rebels didn't seem to have the energy as they did at Club Paradise. I'm not making excuses for the Rebels but I blame this on the fact that they were more preoccupied with two certain people stage diving all night into a catching crowd of about two other people. This stupid, pointless stage diving happened all night up to the point that Chaz had to block these people while trying to play bass.
Some covers done that night were "White Riot", "Teenage Kicks", "Search & Destroy". Also they did their new song "Shame On You". And again Chris Houston played "Surfin' On Heroin" with the band. He showed a little more confidence than at Club Paradise.
Over all I found it a very unenthusiastic gig even though the crowd response was quite good. I still look forward to them coming back after the new album comes out. I just hope next time that they find a better promoter than they had for the Vancouver area as the turn out was less than adequate due to poor advertising.
